Anyone on here who doesn't come from the East End & why do you support West Ham
I was born in Wandsworth, lived in .Tooting, Islington and now tottenham,
My brother was a West Ham fan since the Ted Fenton era and I went along with him around 63/4. Loved the menacing atmosphere, crude language and humour. Been going ever since.

Born in Hastings. Mate took me to a game, stood on the south bank. Was hooked immediately. Atmosphere, colours, the smells, the feel of it. Love at first sight

I'm from west London. Born in Paddington and grew up in Shepherds Bush.

My Dad is a lifelong Hammer, mainly because of Noel Cantwell, who was his childhood hero.

Was first team i saw on TV. Was tempted with Liverpool and remember been Kenny Dalglish when having a kick around so must've been a close call. I made the right choice.

Dad is from the East End.
He never forced me to go......I begged him to take me!!!!!!
He's still going by the way - 82 years old, season ticket holder and he still lives in Cirencester.

Born in Reading.

Followed West Ham as my nan supported Arsenal and i chose the other team in the 1980 FA Cup final just to piss her off.

Re: Anyone on here who doesn't come from the East End & why do you support West Ham
Think I just I liked the players, the kit and the style of football. The sort of reasons a kid would pick a team, left to their own devices. That was circa ’73/74 somewhere, so you can see the appeal. Found out later on that my family were from Essex as far as back anyone can trace, and had only moved away from Tilbury/Aveley way a few years before. But I didn’t know that at the time, and it wouldn’t have meant anything at that age even if I had.

I was born in Great Yarmouth. Gorleston to be specific. Supported West Ham since the mid sixities. Mum was born within the sound but family lived in Finchley. My son lives in Reynes Park and me in Norwich these days. Had season tickets for the past couple of years.

Re: Anyone on here who doesn't come from the East End & why do you support West Ham
Born into a Millwall supporting south London family. I started following West Ham in '63 and I'm not sure how/why. I think it might be from when my Dad drove a bread van around Bow, Canning Town, Leyton & Stratford and used to take me with him on Saturdays. Other than that just put me down as a glory hunter. We moved to Essex in '68 (oh the shame..) and I stuck with West Ham although it would've been easier to switch allegiance to the mighty Southend United. More glory too.

I grew up in Kilburn and aspired to be a cockney...

No an uncle took me with his son, my cousin at an early age and I've been miserable ever since...

These sorts of threads are the breeding ground for the PCB sneerers. I'm just putting my tuppence in.

Your second paragraph is about 6 months out of date as I have spent most of my time on the political threads, I can't be bothered to talk football or West Ham with the imbeciles on here at the moment.

Nice to know my legacy lives on and when I do make a comeback (yesterday) you think it's everyday. I'm big news on here, what can I say.

Anyway you didn't address any of my points which is standard I suppose, what do you think about the new ground?

This thread is about where people live or come from. It is not about the relative merits of UP and OS or who are the better fans. Your comments have fuck all to do with the thread title or content.

If you have a set of beliefs that's OK and it's OK to make your views known. We have all known your views for months even years, but every fucking day over and over again, in context, and out of context like here. Nobody is interested in your rantings.

Like I say fuck off get a hobby. I wonder if they still make Hornby train sets?

Re: Anyone on here who doesn't come from the East End & why do you support West Ham
I was born and raised the wrong side sarf of the river I'm afraid. My old man never liked football, it was my grandad that got me into it. He was Charlton and his best mate a big docker was Millwall who's favourite player was Harry Cripps. They both tried to get me to go there but I had already got the West Ham bug. Mates at school dragged me to see Wall, Chelsea and Arsenal but there was no comparison.

Me and my two sons are West Ham and my brother and his son, we all managed to get over this season a few times when I can get a ticket.

Re: Anyone on here who doesn't come from the East End & why do you support West Ham
Why don't you fuck off and get a memory.

All the way through the build up to leaving UP and going to the shithole, anyone who questioned the move, pointed out the lower tier was never going to be close enough to the pitch nevermind the upper, asked where the extra money was actually going to come from, questioned whether it would move us forward, ask where 20k (TWENTY THOUSAND) new (NEW) ST holder suddenly came from were derided as out of town DRUIDS who didn't know East London and had no connection and no right to comment.

WHO WAS RIGHT?

The OSer crew have mainly fucked off from here and the hangers on have gone quiet, because they have no defence, I know for a FACT one of the prominent one's is gutted and livid about how it's turned out so forgive me if I'm going to be a bit bolshy on a thread where folk are waving their West Ham willies.

I don't understand your nasty comments, nobody on this thread has criticised other West Ham supporters because of their location, Nobody has talked about the OS but out of the blue you pop up with your twisted fucking agenda and your idiot "Berks " remarks. It is beyond a joke now.

Why don't you fuck off and buy yourself a train set.
